Cheapest Place To Bank In CB Cheques In Singapore?

    I'll be going back to Singapore to study in July/August, so I want to find out which bank charges the lowest rate to bank in CB cheques. I'm getting more than $1000 per pay period, I heard that some banks in Singapore charge more if the value of the cheque is more than $1000.

    Any Singaporean affiliates here that can help me?

    This the Bank charges from DBS which I found is the cheapest
    Handling commission : 1/8% of cheque amount subject to a minimum ofSGD10.00 and maximum of SGD100.00 Plus postage charge of SGD4.00
    Overseas agent bank charge (differs, depending on the currency type andamount) USD5.00.
    Then wait 3-4weeks.

    1.8% of the cheque amount? This is quite high... hmm...
