Well there is no gTLD that is better for SEO purposes .info sometimes works as part of the search query Other than that ccTLDs may appear higher at localized versions of Google All these are not solid rules of course However i would stick with .com because it's solid and works for me.
Yeah, just look around... The average person doesn't even know about non .com and .net extensions in my opinion. I am going grab a .info for a site I am basing around information because it just makes sense and hopefully Google agrees.
but will .info becomes $9.99 again when comes to renewal after the first year? or $0.99 for every following years? btw, i think the best of .com is because of its commonness.. because people normally assume site name followed by .com if they can't remember the whole url.
you can get .info for .99cents on godaddy. however, i haven't seen them treated as favorably by the Google SERP. I'd go with .com
Friend, always remember that when you buy a domain at a promo price, you will be renewing the domain at regular rates unless their is a specific renewal promo available then. Like we have $1.99 .info registration and $6.99 .info renewals. The actual registration and renewal price of .info domain is $9.99.
you can get a free domain from register.com follow the thread here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=10861006#post10861006
.com gives the best resullts with search engines, also try name cheap.com and get coupon from retail me not.com to get your .com even cheaper.
.INFO is the cheapest gTLD when it comes to registrations..renewals however, are at around USD 7 or so..
