How good are .info domains. Will that affect my competence with .com domains

 

Those prices are incorrect. I just bought a few .com and .net from godaddy, and they were not that high....

You forgot to mention domainsite.com

 

whats the cheapest transfer with free whois privacy?
I thought mydomain.com would be but they charge $6.99 for the privacy alone per year
name has indeed increased its prices but its free whois privacy and a transfer for $8.99
any better?

 

Free whois privacy is provided by 1and1.com and name.com
and I guess name.com will give you the cheapest rates
