Cheapest domain registrar for .COM

Discussion in 'Domains' started by irongloves, Sep 2, 2005.

    Hi,

I'm looking for someone help in knowing which cheapest registrar offers the lowest price for .COM domain registrations.

I use to reg through Godaddy.com ($9.20 without any code) and Namecheap ($8.88, they are offering private whois too).

I knew about 1and1.com which seems to offer $5.99 .com registrations but lots of people told their service...."sucks" and the DNS management panel is worst.

You know having 100+ domains registered, saving $2/$3 per domain it's actually a good amount of money (I could use to reg more).

    Thanks anyone for any tip.
I would also suggest to post Registrar, price, and any code if available here.

I've just checked netfirms and they are offering at $4.95 per year...
I think every customer is limited to a certain amount...
    Not sure about renewal though...

I use Directi and have become a domain reseller even though most of the domain I purchase are for personal use. The pricing structure starts at 6.99 for com net and org.

I agree. I also use a DirectI Reseller http://64923.myorderbox.com and their prices are very decent.

I use EV1 at $6.99 but they had issues with whatever and you can now only register with them if you have a server there too.

Then yesterday I saw a post somewhere that YAHOO was offering domains at $1.99 EACH

I went over and bought a bunch - kid in a candy store kinda thing! Went back this morning to get some more and its gone back up to $9.95 which really disapointed me. Cant find any thing a bout why either. Almost like I dreamed it, but my card co says its true.

update 2 - just noticed an ad for the url...

    http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/domains/?p=COFFEE

    offering domains at $4.98

I guess the p=COFFEE is the promo code cos it still shows $9.95 on the regular url

small print says 1 per customer etc, but I just put 2 domains thru for 2 years each at $9.94. I'll let you know if they come looking for the diff!

what is it with yahoo domains? within hours its 1.99, 9.95, then 4.98 if you're lucky

Yahoo was offering a promotion. However sometimes its worth to sacrifice a few dollars for the service. But you can also be reasonable and not pay 29$/domain *cough* enom.. although they offer you 7.45$ or so when you transfer a domain out of them, right off the bat with an auto email.

The registrars I suggest would be Namecheap, GoDaddy, and Registerfly. Only issues I ever had was with Namecheap having problems transfering a domain from enom even though they are under enom but thats only my issue and namecheap is overall awesome.

I just purchased a reseller plan from directi and it is not yet activated. Should be by tomorrow (Sept. 12, 2005). If anyone can help me out, I run a webhosting company and am now going to sell domains. And wiht this reseller plan, I might need some assistance with the setup. As those of you who have a reseller plan through directi know that the support is average but with the telephone support, if you do not speak arabic, you will have a difficult time understanding the support. SO I am going to need a little assistance from someone that is already using this plan and has already setup theirs. Please email at support@sandlizardz.com to help me with this matter. Thank you.

Go with NameCheap, they're $8.88 but there are no strings attached like the cheaper places and their service is good.

I just checked out namecheap.com and they are not real good on pricing. I can resell domains as low as $6.79 per domain. I can also get domains for only $5.99 with no strings attached at 1and1.com and then transfer them for free to my reseller account.

By the way. Back on the subject of becoming a reseller for selling domains...... There is always going to be a middle man for every online business oportunity. Let's use Directi.com for example. You can become a domain reseller through them. They are the source of all .myorderbox.com. They are charging you a one time fee of $75 and then after you pay that, you will be able to resell domains for just barely under $7 per domain. Now, You can go to the middle man and do the same thing except not pay ANYTHING! Not a penny to resell domains and you can actually sell domains for lower than what directi is selling them for. I suggest google.com to search for "myorderbox.com" and then you will find a huge list of people who are resellers also but they can resell reseller accounts and the majority of them do not charge a penny for this unlike what I said earlier about Diercti.com, charging you $75. So The best thing to do before you make a descision and waste good money that can be saved and used on something worth your time, is to just look around, take your time and search. Sometimes it will take me up to 3 weeks to search online for the "best price" on whatever I am looking for.

Yea I prefer godaddy also,, had some with 1and1 and their CS sucked. Atleast I know if I have an issue with godaddy they will get it taken care of immediately or atleast i can be on the phone with someone immediately:)
