    they are below $5/year. remember that renewals are close to $9 - but you can transfer it out without problems (atleast, I had no problems with getting auth-code for transfers so far).

    I use 1&1 for .com domain registrations. They charge 5.99$ per domain, and whois privacy is included in the price.

    Dynadot same price anytime without "coupon codes" or dirty GoDaddy tricks... lower price plus 0.25 cents, ridiculous!

    All of us know that such fee is mandatory, what for separate it... to fool people for sure!

    Ah!... and before go with 1&1 do a reasearch about the thousands of horror stories related to this company

    Re: 1&1. It depends on what you are registering the domains for. If you're planning to register a few domains to hold and develop them, then I believe that 1&1 does a good job and have been satisfied with their services. YMMV.

    But if you're planning to register domains in bulk in order to resell them, then 1&1 is not appropriate for this purpose, as their procedures for cancelling and transfering domains is cumbersome.
