There is no real big alternative to PayPal, Moneybookers is reasonable but PayPal is perfect for most people.
Ya paypal is widely trusted to another big plus the problem is they take so much, adds up after awhile.
Ya that's what i've grown to realize and what we are going to keep using for http://stocksonwallstreet.net/ as PayPal is by fan the most trusted service out there despite the fact they rip you off lol
I guess StocksonWallStreet didn't get the Google Penguin Update memo. Jamming a text link into a forum post that is totally unrelated to your niche not only will do you absolutely no good anymore, but it will likely harm your rankings. - LOL As for the substance of this thread, I have yet to hear whether or not we are talking about real payment processors or the pseudo processors that take people off of your website to pay, like many of the ones mentioned in this thread do. I realize that many people have no choice because they live in countries where they cannot get a traditional payment processor set up. If you are in that situation, sometimes it is better in the long run to setup and U.S. business entity, bank account and processor. If that's the case, go somewhere like myusbusiness.com and they can help you get set up. (notice ... no link!) I'm in the U.S. and use Durango for most of my websites because under the agreement they have set up with Store Coach members, you can have unlimited websites for the $25 per month charge and their rates are pretty low - like 2.3% last time I looked. People often balk at a monthly fee but that fee is minimal if you are actually making a decent amount of sales - especially considering it covers ALL of your websites. More importantly, unlike PayPal, they will actually do their best to support their merchants in chargeback situations, too.
I did not know that and wasn't trying to do that, thanks for the heads up though I won't do that in the future.
Then I'm sorry, StocksonWallStreet. It just looked like that. People need to realize that the whole SEO game has changed post-Panda. Even a signature link in a forum does no good unless your website is directly related to not only the forum, but the thread that it is on in the forum.
I agree with MyFreebie, its a trusted, secure, been around for ages service that people trust and recognise through it branding especially through eBay and many other sites. Good luck though, it could be hard to find a service as reputable and could have the potential to be bigger and better than Paypal. A shame I know, it would be nice to have some decent competition for us the users in this service industry.
