CheapCarHunter - $2391 Avg / Month - SOLID Site, High net profit & Active aff program

Discussion in 'Sites' started by ados67, May 18, 2006.

    URL: http://www.CheapCarHunter.com

    Age of site (months): 10-11

Monthly revenue: $2391/Month between Sep 2005 and April 2005

    Revenue details:
The site has averaged a little under
$2,391 per month between September of
    2005 and April of 2006.

During the earlier months, the site
    relied heavily on affiliate sales,
hence gross revenue was very high
($6,300 in August, for example) yet
net profit wasn't as good due to the
    high affiliate payouts.

In the more recent months, when the
new owner took over the business, the
    site became more focused on
    non-affiliate generated sales, hence
the gross revenue dropped, but the net
    profit increased significantly.

I'll try and include all details here
on the post, to make it easy on all
prospective buyers, feel free to ask
if you have any further questions.

The revenue figures listed below are
    from Clickbank. This revenue is
    calculated after affiliate fees
    - so in other words, the only
    expenses the business incurred (unless
    otherwise stated) are hosting and
merchant fees. Hosting fees came down
to $9.95 per month, and merchant fees
are, of course, entirely up to your
    arrangement with your provider.

    September 2005: $3570.4
    October 2005: $2927.43
    November 2005: $3365.58
    December 2005: $2495.1

    January 2006: $1,708.46
    February 2006: $1,377.63
    March 2006: $1,237.39
    April 2006: $2,447.19 ($1,687.05)*

    * April incurred $750 in advertising
expenses, hence the actual revenue is
    $2,447.19 - $750 - $9.95 (hosting) =
    $1,687.05

April was basically the first month in
a long time someone had actually put
some money into the business. $750 was
    spent on marketing through google
    adsense. Obviously it needs
optimization, testing etc. but as you
can see even the preliminary results
    weren't bad at all.

Below you will be able to see the recent sales from April

(There is one more screenshot to April
showing another 10 sales - you will be able
to see all the screenshots using the links
    below)

The summer months tend to be more
successful as you can see (August,
    which I didn't list, had $6,300 in
    gross revenue, before affiliate
    commissions were paid. September was
just as good, if not better).

The site is very solid as far as
revenue goes, even if no time or money
    is spent on marketing.

The refund rate is between 8-10%,
which is standard for the industry to
    the best of my knowledge.

Monthly page views: 66,697 pageviews in April

    Traffic details:
The owner transferred to a new hosting
service during April, hence stats are
    available related to that month.

    More detailed screenshots would be
given if necessary - let me know what
    exactly you need.

According to a rough estimate by the
    owner, the conversion rate for
targetted traffic should be around 1
    in 60 visitors.

    Description:
Cheap Car Hunter.com sells access to a
    detailed database of government
    auctions.

    The current database contains nearly
    800 re-occurring auctions, organized
by each US state, and then by the
county. Auction events on the site
    include everything from Police vehicle
    auctions, IRS seizures, to Online
    auctions and other exciting
    opportunities. Members can sort the
auctions by the state, or by the type
    of auctions that exist.

    The membership database is editable,
and you would only need to update
links every few years, since the
auctions listed always occur at the
    same time every week.

    Government auction directory websites
like CCH, are some of the best selling
membership sites on the net. The
    consumer demographic stretches from
    college students, the working class,
retirees, stay at home moms, and just
about everyone else looking for a car.

CCH provides all of the information
that consumers are looking for in one
    easy-to-use and reliable database, as
opposed to searching outside of the
membership, for hours and hours with
    fewer results.

The site tends to convert incredibly
due to the advances in site design,
and audio clips with search results
    (Very important). Other sites
    on the marketplace have been
influenced by our sleek design and
    detailed interface.

The site was ranked #12 at Clickbank's
    "Auto" category, which is quite
    lucrative:

    I just checked, and it's at #14,
    although that's simply because no
time, effort or money has been put
    towards promoting the affiliate
    program lately.

Get it in the top 10, and your
    exposure would skyrocket (because it
would be on the front page of "Auto"
    related affiliate programs). Since
    you're already at #14, that shouldn't
    be hard.

One of the best ways the new owner
could increase sales, is to promote
    the affiliate programs. During its
peak, it had several strong affiliates
promoting (as you can see from the
    August 2005 screenshot), and building
    relationships with such affiliates
again would be great. The 70% payout
and solid conversion will attract them
    to your offer.

One of the best ways to do that wold
    be through affiliate directories (many
of which the site has already been
submitted to, as far as I know), but
another great way would be to actually
    advertise it in Clickbank itself,
which is not too expensive compared to
the affiliate sales you can get
    continually after doing that (by
    building a solid affiliate base).

The site requires little to no work.
The main "effort" here is answering
5-10 e-mails per week from affiliates
    and customers.

    The product is delivered
    electronically, and normally you will
not receive any inquiries from your
    customers.

The domain is a PR5 domain.

    Included are some affiliate marketing
materials. Also included are rights to
    the content.

    Website design, files, and auction
listings can be altered or removed.
    Auction information can be updated
from the Web Host Manager of choice.
    Emails can be distributed to
registered members. All members can be
searched, and database access can be
activated or removed as needed through
    the Cheap Car Hunter Clickbank
    Account. Statistics can be calculated
using the Control Panel and the Site
    Hits page.

    There are over 1,600 members
registered currently, to whom you can
mass mail with other offers, and
    cross-sell other items.

Reason for selling - The owners
want to cash out as they need to
raise money for their other online
business that should go live next
month. They just have too many
    obligations with the new business.

I hope you find the above sufficient,
although feel free to let me know if
    you need anything else.

As with any solid business with barely
any work involved, we do expect a
decent price on the site. The new
owner has many ways for increasing
revenue, and even without doing so -
the site is still very profitable.

Offers from: $16,000 and up. If
you have a lower offer, we will
consider it - although more than
likely we will not sell for under that
sum, simply because just leaving the
site as is with no work will be more
    profitable in under 10 months.

Buy It Now: $22,000 or send me
    your best offer via PM.

    Type of site:
Established and functional website with traffic

    Price (or starting bid): 16000

    Is an auction?: No
