    that is fairly cheap. What bit protection is this? Our's are twice the price but are 256 bit encryption

    I think it's either 256 or 128, I'm not sure, i was considering buying one, but I've never really needed one so far :p
    I think it says on the website somewhere, it's comodo based too, which is a bonus , Comodo rock :D

    Because you can secure so much, I guess. Come to think of it, I don't really know. Maybe they just overcharge to annoy people? :p

    Frankly nothing beats the free SSL that is generated with OpenSSL open source program :)
    For normal use I need that suffice unless you are using for a shopping cart etc.

    Correct, self-signed ones are for personal use...hope you don't like your clients bugged with "untrusted ssl certificate" message on ecommerce or such sites.
