Why pay such a little price for the service which holds your website?

    I really don't understand that.

You want to pay $1 a month, to a business to keep your website on the internet? What a joke.

Hi ... interesting hosting offer, especially life-time payment offers. Hosting domain registered in Tamil Nadu, using server(s) at hostforweb-dot-com, a Chicago-based company, with a decent rep. I don't know the offerer, but I wonder if he or she will be around in two years or two months. Such offers are always tempting, but long-term stability is a concern. Every company has to start somewhere, but do I want my main site(s) to vanish, without warning. This has happened once, already. Best, as others write, to trust established host. It's always good to help the new-b or little guy or gal, but .... Ugh!!!

I can't agree with these two statements enough, and they go hand-in-hand too.

If the prices are super-cheap, then you have to question how they stay in business - they have to get a LOT of paying customers to actually generate a profit, thus they are probably running overloaded servers and/or overselling. This means that your site will probably be slow. Also, if they have a large number of clients, their support would probably suck as they can't afford sufficient support staff to give timely responses.

Your right, but a good host is determine by a few factors like:
    • Prices - Make sure they are not very cheap.
    • Support - Make sure they have knowledge in the industry and respond quickly. Also make sure that its not just 1 person answering all the time. A good host is not just run by 1 person.
    • Good Servers - A good host will get a new server for new customers as soon as the server is used about 80%.
    • Complete Space Usage - Many new hosts say that you can only use your hosting account space for your website files, and storing of larger files, or unnecessary files is not allowed. This is not the case with a good host, they give you permission to use your space for anything you like, just keeping it all legal.
I'm sure there are many other factors, which i just can't remember at the moment :D

Compare price plans with many of the bigger companies such as HostGator, Lunarpages and such hosts...

I see no live chat feature on their site, and although ticket systems are good, there are always cases when you need an answer quickly.

As relixx said, their prices may be cheap, but they need to gain a lot of customers to be able to stay up, to be honest $1 a month isn't all that much to be trying to keep a business on.

    Hi,

The prices are semi-reasonable for the amount of resources your given for the plans.

The problem I can see is that the fees for payments would take a considerable amount of the income if customers paid monthly.

It isn't really cheap if you compared what was on sale for others. Have seen unlimited space at such prices. But even at the prices you mention, I would hesitate to put anything but the most unimportant web sites, those that you do not mind losing. I rather pay 100x more for the ease of mind on a reliable hosting company.
