    Hi,

I have my site hosted in hostgator. For now evrything seems ok until today.
The problem is my forum have 13.500 members and when I go send emails the server goes down. My site have 3300 visits per day and have adult content.

My question is: Do I need a dedicated server?
Whats the cheap dedicated server i can buy?

    Can you help me please?

OMG...you're hosting a big forum on shared hosting...they can shut you anytime!

Hunt around at WHT forums for a dedicated deal.

That's way to much for a shared host and you should upgrade to a dedicated or VPS. You could just upgrade with hostgator.

Less than $30/month, you still spend money, and get trouble. Double at least, or triple

when saying VPS, it depends on how many RAM it has, how many CPU it has. 512MB RAM VPS is much better than 128MB RAM VPS. Sending 13K emails at once, I believe you will need a dedicated server. If you can divide them to several times, it might be ok, but send all at once, no, from my idea, VPS is not enough

Well even with a dedicated server it is not wise to send 13000 emails at once, you will need to break the emails up so that it would not cause server load when sending.

You don't definitely need a VPS/VDS or dedicated server, extreme application hosting or semi-dedicated hosting would suit. BUT, you can't send that many emails at once, but you can queue them.
