Hey guys, Does anyone know of cheap or free software similar to Microsoft Moviemaker? I don't mind that program but it keeps mysteriously freezing on my computer and is way too frustrating. I've just seen a video somewhere on the net that will bring up a photo and then sort of slowly zoom in on a certain section before going on to the next photo. This is ideally what I'd like. It also had captions on the bottom of some of the photos which isn't necessary but might be handy. Any advice on this would be great because I'm clueless! I need to do this thing this weekend so something easy to learn would be a bonus! Thanks! Kirsty
gallery has an excellent slideshow feature - also allows to paly movies and flash online I run it since nearly 2 months absolutely perfect to install and admin, SE friendly URLs with mod_rewrite, auto-sitemap, auto-RSS feeds. may be you have a look at a few photo gallery examples - standalone orintegrated in various CMS it's open source - hence free - PHP see other people's reviews gallery at hotscripts.com
Oops I forgot to mention that this is for a DVD to send a compter illiterate person... would Gallery still do? Someone suggested using Flash... anyone have an idea if that'd do what I want?
if yo have a site sooner or later you may have to learn to setup such scripts anyway gallery is the easiest script i ever installed since 1997 !! just look at the online examples about how the gallery and particularly the slideshow works. for users its very simple to use for site owner you can make it even more easy with many configuration and template / display options my below photo link also has slideshow active but i have no flash and no movies uploaded yet
if you dont already know how to creat in flash.... id say forget it, esp if time is of the essense.... good luck
Try googling for Memories on Tv or checking out vso. Those aren't free though, but can be relatively cheap. It's a secret here at home, so people ask me "How'd you do that?" and I respond with "You can use Adobe Premier." Then they just reply "Oh, why don't you do it for me instead, I'll give you a CD with all the pictures ... I'll pay. How much?" heheheheh..
