Hey everyone, with the summer bearing down I thought you may find this useful. My mom got this email and passed it to me... "I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it.....Pass it on. OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS: I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house"
WoW, this is really awesome, as I never ever thought of using Listerine as the mosquitoes killer... Nice tips and a rep for you here, vgal
he sprayed is lawn with listerine? Perhaps small doses don't make a difference, but doesn't listerine have some alcohol in it? And doesn't alcohol kill grass?
Interesting information, when i go fly fishing up Scotland i get eaten alive with them so i may well give it a try !!!
Wow... This is a fantastic tip to drive mosquitoes away. I'll try tonight and post the results tomorrow...
Looks like a good tip and worth trying. BTW, are there any side effects from listerine? What will happen if it is sprayed on the main door of your house?
Why not just smear vaseline all over your body to trap the skeeters on ya. Flick them off as they fly into your nose.
I don't know of the side effects, if any, just thought I'd share it. I haven't tried it yet, so can't personally verify what they've said.
It is a cheaper alternative than bug spray. I will definately try this since mosquitos are a big problem in my house.
Gr8, never though of using listerine.... But anyways, I will give it a try. Lets see, how it works here because it seems mosquitoes here have become resistant for everything...
