Maybe because you have not credit card or a verified Paypal account. I first ordered a single domain and I was not required to add any amount to my account. On a side not, did you see?... never fails someone posting about GoDaddy which $6.95 coupon code makes a total of of $7.15 to pay at checkout, thus not the cheaper.
