Many countries are standing up against the US, he is doing this so he can rig the election and have no outside problems, this is typical of a dictator.

We're the number one buyer of his oil, the Chinese around told him no for logistical reasons so I don't know who he'll sell to if it isn't to the US. Plus he needs money to keep funding his outrageous social programs. I think its a way of boosting the price of oil since oil has come down $10 in the last week

believe me, if anybody could rig th u.s. elections it would the republican party, not that guy. Besides CNN is running out of content so they need fluff like this to compete against the net.

chavez has the cult of personality.
Who does he think he is? Lenin,Stalin,Castro?
Just a radical left wing prick, check out Londons mayor Ken Livingston nicknamed "red ken".Ken has a close relationship with chavez ( people wonder why im not a permanent resident of london )

There definitely is a Chavez cult.

There's shortages of food and Venezuelans are praising Chavez.

Factory worker Eugenio Ruiz praised Chavez for the subsidized food and said he plans to vote "Yes."

"Look at all he's done for us," Ruiz said, explaining he thinks the situation would be worse without Chavez. "We have to stay with him, not abandon him."

All i have to say is, i really hope Ron Paul gets elected so we can stop this bs and start using this money that we spend overseas on war towards research into alternative energy so we dont need to be dependent on anyone for oil and use it as a bargaining chip to install dictators and then remove them by force killing innocent civilians in the crossfire indirectly, but hey what do i know anyways lol.

France generates 90% of it's electricity from nuclear and the US hasn't built a nuclear power plant in 30 years.

The anti-iraq protesters are the same people protesting no-nukes back in the 70s because vietnam ened and they didn't have anything to protest against.

We already have the technology to build high-tech nuclear plants and are exporting the technology to India. Go figure.

There is a lot of anti-Chavez propaganda out there. I'm not saying it is without basis, but it is typical of the propaganda we heard about Saddam, Ahmadinejad, Kim Jong-Il etc.

Chavez apparently is quite popular with some of his people. And the guy who wrote, Confessions of an Economic Hitman IIRC seemed to think quite highly of him.

Wow, did you guys read that? There was a tiny little nugget that was huge in there.

Chavez wants to take control of their equivalent of the FED. Basically, he wants to take the country back from the bankers. Wow. Wowowowowow.

Whatever Chavez is trying to do will collapse if the price of oil dips.

The price of oil won't drop. Not with the FED on the verge of lowering interest rates again, and flooding more currency into circulation.
