chat in php

    Hello All,

    I want to develop a chat system in my php application.
    Here, I want after successful login,user can chat with the other users who are also logged in.

    What you think what should I use?
    wether DB or storing the data in a file.

    I googled for free chat. I got many such scripts,but I want to develop it myself

    Please help me to right logic.

    I say no reason to re-invent the wheel and use a script but I wish you the best of luck in developing it yourself. Are you going to license your chat solution once it's developed for others to use?
