how about seperating all the pointless chat stuff away from the webmaster stuff and onto a new subdomain, I mean the politics, religion, entertainment etc....

    chat.digitalpoint.com

You could then add a lot more categories too.

I think this forum has every category it needs. No need for a new sub-domain. IMO

You think that starting a 2nd forum will make everyone use one or the other depending on the topic? I think you give users too much credit. :) They can't even figure out what section to post a thread in a single forum most of the time.

Good, I thought he might be referring to me

I only just realised how odd it is to have religion/politics in webmaster land. If you mix it with entertainment, autos, and ...erm, something else, then you got a whole new place. Throw in umpteen 1000's of visitors a day... voila! more work for the mods. :D

It does seem odd to let people blast off their religious views in a webmaster forum. Just my 2 c's of course.

Politics/Religion were spun off for the sole purpose of keeping that crap out of General Chat.

Yeh I know, I just popped into Anthony's place and saw some thread loaded with an argument about Nixon & DP, and thought what is that crap being debated for on a webmasters place, it wouldn't be too bad if it was at that well known chat place.... "ping!" (lightbulb and all that) just thought I would ask....

No worries, it was just a thought, looks like it ain't gonna happen :D

I don't really see the point. There are already forum sections dedicated to this kind of chat.

Are you saying that I could go Forum Jump > Design & Development > Apache and skip all the superfluous banter? Way to go, bacanze, thanks for the tip off ;) :D

That's great, chat would be really really awesome, either online or on IRC (I have my own network of aprox 9 servers linked, so just ask)

Just because DP has many webmaster related forums, it is not just a webmaster only forum. You can discuss about payment processing about your business. These are not completely webmaster related topics.

Morethan that, webmasters are also human beings, so they also have theirown views on the relevant religious and political topics. So I strongly support the idea of an integrated forum.

    :D :D :D
