Just wonder anyone here is running a charity site? When coming to the domain registration, what is the extension that we are supposed to use? .com or .org? Any idea? Please help. Thanks

.org has been the standard for non-profit organizations . You should also buy the .com and .net and redirect those to your .org

Yeah, it's best recommended to use .org for your Charity Website domain name. Say for a best example are redcross.org and unicef.org

Generally, I have seen charity and not for profit organisations use .org but i like the idea posted above that you can buy other extensions also to redirect to your current .org website. This will prevent anyone copying your site.

Agree with the post(s) above: use .org but also buy other extensions to protect your brand and to redirect to your main site for type-in traffic.
