I just finished designing a website for a charity car rally around europe, the charity is cancer research and the site is made in xhtml/flash/php

I didn't look becuase it started making a sound...

You should *always* turn sounds off by default...

It's an instant turnoff and I won't look at sites that hijack my music listening pleasure

Agreed. I had to hit the back button right away because of the [unwanted] audio.

 

Yeah, no one likes being ambush. And what if I'm at work trying to steal some Internet time while my boss is trolling about beyond my cubicle? Just a thought.

 

Well the client requested sound, but otherwise what do you think.

 

Honestly, I'm not looking 'till the sound is gone...

You should tell the client that sound will cause a drastic reduction in visitor retention numbers...

 

Good luck convincing them of that. I have about as much success rate with that as I do with Flash... They just won't listen.

 

I'm so pleased I deal with educated clients these days...

 

Looks good darksat but I would lose the sound.
