Suggestion "Characters left" on Edit Signature page

    Hello,
I would like to know (from Shawn) if it would be possible to add a modification that shows how much characters are left for the signature. That would help in getting rid of seeing the error 'too many characters' a dozen times.

    Before other people start complaining:
    - I'm happy that we can use up to 6 links
    - I'm happy with the character limit of 350

I'm just wondering if that would be possible to get. Would be a small, but handy improvement.

    Thanks!
    - Aquarezz

To be honest you only change your signature once every few months, and there are programs to check word counts. If you want the feature badly, you should do it on one of them.

I do understand that, but on the other hand:
    1. People want things easier these days, not having to go to another page is a bit of time saved.
    2. Those codes don't have the WYSIWYG editor.
    3. Yep, I'm lazy when it comes to editing my signature as I usually make 25 changes before I'm happy with the layout of my signature (align it to the left, right, center, bold that or not..).

And I'm sure this feature isn't that hard to get, so that's the reason why I asked it. If it can't happen no worries though, I've been changing my signature like this since April 2008 so I can keep doing it like that if it's necesarry :)

In your sig you're only using
    ,
and tags, and the word processor is a ...ent of other things that Shawn has planned :D

Mmmm... that's one of those things that I do agree with you that it would be slightly useful, but at the same time, I think the time spent coding it would be better spent working on other things... :)

That would be a great feature but I agree that it would be a bitch to have to take time and work it into the code.
I always wanted that but once we got quick replies in PMs I stopped caring.

I must admit that it would be a pleasant feature and it would save some time for the mod team . I'm assuming it would be simple to make plug in that can detect sigs that go out of limit .

You may want to use Ms-Word for counting words :)
