    Hello again designers!

I have a client who needs a character/mascot creating for use in his advertising. The site is www.windoorfix.co.uk and he fixes problems with double-glazing, doors, locks etc.

Now, the character we need has a few requirements :

We would like a male character - not necessarily human - with a cap and/or t-shirt (possibly showing the logo or name of the company on it). The character must either be holding a tool box or have a tool box beside him. Please use blue shades for any clothing you adorn the character in.

Please be as creative as you can for this contest - let's see the best of DP!

Format required is either : vector or large canvas 300dpi PSD file.

We will let this contest run for 3 days but may extend it or end it early depending on the outcome.

The client does want to choose a winner from here but reserves the right to not choose a winner. (I'm confident he will though due to the high standard on show here @ DP!)

The prize for this contest is $40 paid via paypal. Good luck!

Just after something simple, not an intricately-crafted realistic model.

If it's not enough for you, don't enter the contest - it's all the budget allows for this project, sorry.

Interestingly I have a pig dressed in blue overalls carrying a tool box on my website that isn't being used for anything at the moment. I won't even have to make an entry lol. I'll just submit him cleaned up :)

Thanks :) Looking forward to all of the entries!

Just a FYI : We won't be asking for any changes or revisions from anybody until a winner has been selected. We feel this is fair to everybody then.

    Thanks,
    Davey.

I'm not sure if this is the direction you're wanting. Anyway, I created it in Corel. The file can also be used in Illustrator.

Here's my character. :) Logo can be added to tshirt if this is liked :) He's vector so while this preview looks sloppy the origional is nice and clean.

Hey guys; thanks for your entries so far!

    --------

This feedback is only my opinion and not that of the client :

Kia Ora : Firstly, thanks for getting the party started ;) I do like this although I think he might find it a little bit too realistic and perhaps not unique enough. It's still a good drawing and certainly fits the specs. Thanks :)

Aries : Nice entry man! I think the hard hat makes him look a bit more like a builder than a window guy, is that possible to be changed? (If you won I mean, don't make any changes..) Also, the shirt would probably need to be changed in colour but again no revisions yet mate.

Shibligb : I quite like the style of this, although it might be a little too simple. He also looks like Mr. Bean haha. don't forget this is just my opinion my client might think it's exactly right. Thanks for the entry!

Cameo : Glad you took part ;) This one I really like, obviously very professional. I think maybe he'd look better with a cap on or something like that, maybe with the ears sticking out or something. Just something to make him look less blantantly a pig. Again, i'll ask my client in the morning for his own feedback.

Woodywho : Assuming you didn't draw all of those characters yourself, these aren't something we will be able to consider. We want something that will be unique to his brand and his advertising. Modified clipart isn't the avenue we wish to take, sorry. Also, please don't place your characters on such garish backgrounds, it doesn't help ;) Thanks for the entry though.

    --------

Anybody else wanting to enter? About 1.5 days left to get your entries in. We MAY extend it till maybe midday on Monday (UK time) but we'll see.

I'd like to reiterate our need for something unique - that is, maybe something not totally realistic looking, maybe cute, maybe weird-looking, ya know? Something a little different. Always great for branding and for getting attention.

If any of the current entrants want to change anything, obviously they can but like I said we will not specifically ask for changes from anybody other that the winner of the contest.

Thanks for all the entries so far; I hope to see a few more before the end!

    Davey.
