My channels are a mess. I have some pages that could be one of a couple of channels and I don´t remember which. Page code doesn´t help because the name of the channel assigned by G bears no relation to what I have called any channel. I doubt there is an easy fix here but would appreciate hearing how some of you organise channels.
Heh....I've been there. I've got AS on a whole lot of sites so sometimes things can get out of hand. I think that's what they created URL channels for. Have u tried setting up URL channels to help make sense of things? AmCy
I tend to use a channel for each ad spot. Top banner has a channel, left banner has a channel, content has a channel, and adlinks has a channel. This tends to work very well since I can calculate the value of each ad spot and adjust accordingly. It also helps you conceptualize things: for example my content channel tends to have a very high CTR which means that users reading my content are also clicking ads. This is great since I can then use that info when I'm selling a spot to a private advertiser.
Hi AmCy, Activating the url channel is worse because I see double clicks. I got myself in a right paddy when my AS suddenly shot through the roof on the Channels view but stayed more or less the same on Aggregate. And oal... Yes, I can see where splitting the page up and naming channels after placement would be helpful. Unfortunately I need mine to split up into placement and topic. As in property-header, cars-header or whatever. I think I´m going to scrap all the channels and start again...
