I recently implemented channels, and the day i implemented them, my revenue went to zero. I get about 300 impressions a day, but google says i now get not clicks. It has been like this for 2 days now. When i was getting 50 imprsssions a day i was eraning like 2$, now i get much more but get 0 clicks...can someone help me? thanks i would really appreciaie it so much.

Is it possible that you do not get any clicks?

Does it say 0 click in your daily agregated report as well?

When you login take a look on the upper left. It should say Today's Earnings: xxx. Is this 0.00 every day?

that is very interesting. I am using over 100 channels, if that is really true that channels bring down cpc (which would blow my mind as to why it would), let me know and I will rid of them as well

I have channels left and right as well, some of which I've been meaning to remove since I don't use them anymore :p . My revenue seems pretty steady.

I think mishkin might need to clarify his terminology... he says he now gets 300 "impressions" a day, but he used to get only 50 per day and those 50 "impressions" earned him $2 per day... which to me seems way too high! 50 CLICKS earning $2 per day (4 cents per click) sounds more reasonable.

There is no standard return per click. It depends on the content of your website and, as a result, on the amount advertisers are willing to bid for those terms which produce AdSense ads on your site.

Returns per click are highly variable because Google applies a revenue split. In determing the percentage, however, several factors seem to apply, including whether or not ads on your site generate sales for advertisers.

In other words, your keywords may be good, but your content actually draws in a different group of users than those sought by the advertiser.

I know all that, the point I was making was that he was really receiving ONLY 50 impressions, in order to make the $2 he mentioned almost ALL impressions would have had to been clicks ALSO, unless he had some extremely-high paying ads. Therefore I suggested maybe he meant CLICKS and not impressions, which to me sounds more plausible.

well, if he has a CTR of 10% - 20%, its possible to get 2$ a day with only 50 impressions. Between 40 and 20 cents per click is it then.

i thought channels was simply showing you which url was giving you clicks etc? does it change content serving?

IMO your channels should not affect your ctr. because channels are absolute obsolete to the browsing person. they are there for you to keep track of what ads in those channels are doing the best. like how on my site , aboutitworld.com ,i have a different channel for each topic.

i think it was just a coinky dink that he hasn't gotten clicks in 2 days because he added channels, unless somehow he messed up his size and colors in the process.
