I want to change my social security number and name because I'm switching from an individual to a business. Will this be frowned upon by YPN? Will they think I'm selling my account?

You could always email them and explain your situation.

no, as long as your name is in your new corporation (which they will verify) you will be ok. call them up and give them your new info, explaining that you are switching, and you will be fine. no lying though, they will be verifying your name associated with the tax id and corp name with the IRS for validation.

just to clarify though, I will be using a DBA name that is registered under the company. I won't be using my current name under the corporation either.

    Is this allowed?

this is the best clarification I can give you.

whoevers name / social security number is currently on the account must be listed on the corporate papers that you want to switch to. when you give ypn the corporate name and tax id number they are going to check with the irs to see whose names are listed as owners of that corporation. if its not the same person as was listed before, then its considered a transfer of accounts, violating tos and terminating the account. also, this validation will occur again if you setup direct deposit. they will verify with the bank that the name / tax id number matches up with the previous settings. if they cant validate your banking, they will hold your payments.

it doesnt get any simpler than this. if you are trying to cheat to sell your account, you've already lost. if you are doing a legitimate transfer for tax purposes or whatever, then you've won. there are always work-arounds, but if you have to ask how to do it, then you cant do it. ypn is not stupid. transfer of accounts is against tos. they will do whatever they have to to ensure that legitimate transfers are in fact legitimate.
