If there is no color code in the specified column, the ads are displayed with the background of the page showing through. I know displaying images under ads is a clear violation, but what is the limit. People alter the color-coding all the time with no ill-will from the big 'G', but what about none.
You are allowed to have the background color blend into your site, just never alter your adsense code that google gave you.
If you can alter the code from your AdSense account so that the ads don't show any background colour then this is fine, I'm sure. Shows some ingenuity!
But surely you have to specify a background colour when you get the code? If you then delete the background colour information from the code, you are changing the code which is definitely not allowed.
Yes, but it is apparently alright to edit the same code sections after the ads have been placed, or even to specify up to 3 or 4 different colours that will alternate when the ads change. Anyone brave enought to contact G on this one? lol.
you are not allowed to alter the code! whatever allowed on the google login panel is available is limit for you!
check this out for s**ts and giggles. httphttp://www.askdavetaylor.com/can_the_google_adsense_search_tool_background_be_changed.html
From the adsense TOS: Perhaps the link you give above has written authorisation from google, but pretty unlikely I think unless they are a premium publisher. I suppose you could always ask them for written permission, see what they say...
In my experience, if you leave the google_color_bg variable blank, or insert any non-hex value such as 'none' or 'transparent', it always shows as white. I don't know any way to make it transparent without modifying the javascript rather than the HTML code.
with the search box google allowed me to change the background to transparent but they didnt like it too much from their email but they approved of it. It was to blend in my site which had a gradient color in the background.
