Hi everyone I just wanted to know what happens to your wordpress site when you change themes. I always seem to lose my pages indexed in google after day 2 of my theme changed. Does this happen to anyone else? How many days did you notice it to take for google to reindex your wordpress pages after the new theme change?

Your URLs shouldn't change when you change the theme. Just the design. So there won't be much, if any, affect on indexed pages.

Of course, your rankings could change if the theme has poor use of H1 and other tags, but for the most part, things will remain the same.

There should be no change in how the googlebot sees your page.

However, some SEO plugins (for example, related posts) may have required changes to 'the loop' in your theme, so make sure you copy those changes across.
