Changing Title Tags and its Delay in SERPs

I recently changed the title tags of my index page of my site and well I traditionally used to see such changed picked up by Google within a day or two but for some reason a fair few days have passed (3 -4) and Google has yet to update their SERPs for the change.

I was noticing some similar effects when posting new articles on one of my other sites. I used have to my new articles indexed and ranking well in SERPs within 48 hours now it is taking over a week to index the new articles.

I was just wondering if people are seeing delays in changes in the SERPs for things like page titles? Is Google getting slow?

It depends how often Google spiders your site. Sometimes it takes weeks.

Different sites are crawled on different schedules. I have had sites that only get indexed every few weeks. You just have to be patient.

I think their crawling schedules changes and depending on where you are or which DC you query, you may have different results but eventually all DCs are updated.

I do experience some delays recently but it might due to the frequency of my content update ;) As what has been mentioned, Google changes their index frequency from time to time..

    Yah to everything said above...
Unless Google is using a title and description from ODP (DMOZ)

LOL well it would appear that Google heard my cries and within a few hours of me posting this the index page was reindex. I only started this thread because the crawl rate of my site has been unusually slow of late, where it used to take 24 - 48 hours to see the changes it now obvious takes 4 - 5 days.

I'm having similar experiences but i think it's because of the low PR of my site. When you add a new page, do you place a link of the index page (assuming the PR on your index page is higher than the inner pages) for faster crawling or do you leave it where it's supposed to be?

Well in this particular case it was my index page that I wanted crawled so with all the natural links pointing to it I would have thought that it would have been indexed a lot faster - that's all.

As for when I'm trying to have a deep inner page index quickly - yes sometimes I point a link from my index page and sometimes other relevant sites to make sure Google crawls it. Doing this on some of my more trusted domains I have found that it normally takes about 48 hours for the new pages to to appear in the SERPs.
