I've been working on a freebies website for a couple of months. I don't know much about SEO. A couple of days ago, I came to know that the page rank of my website has risen to 1. By this time, I had decided to use the domain as a personal blog as I alone cannot manage to collect much information about freebies and don't have enough resources to outsource someone qualified either. Now, I've changed the site's topic and content willy-nilly and made it into a personal blog about my thoughts on philosophy, literature, criticism, culture, theory of art, education, etc. The site's URL is: http://www.thefree.tk Should that make an impact on my SEO? Will the page rank fall now? Will it make search engines penalize my site? Any other long-term or short-term consequences? Further, I want some genuine and professional tips on SEO. I've been reading a hell lot of ebooks about it, yet I don't think I know much. Most of them are themselves an SEO trick and are stuffed with the same jibber-jabber I already know. Thanks in advance for your help!
Changing the topic of your website shouldn't alter your pagerank as the pagerank is determined by the number of quality back links pointing to your website. As long as your content is quality and back links keep coming your page rank can only get better
