Changing the sidebar color

I'm trying to change the color in the sidebar, which file should I be looking at css.php or sidebar1.php?

And what am I looking for? I tried doing a search for "sidebar" and it either comes up empty or I'm changing the wrong code.

    Thanks

It all depends on how the template was originally written, but more than likely it shoud be your CSS file as this is a stylesheet that is applied sitewide

Obviously you need to change that in your css file.

that's the first place I tried, but changing the color codes don't seem to work, and I can't find them in the other files. It's a custom template that a developer sold so I guess I'll try to email him. I can't find the font color and hyperlink color as well, only the size.

    Thanks
