I have a website and it looks different in different resolution screens i need to get it to look the same in all monitor resolutions.
This is a ? for the ages. are you an artiste? is there a reason to have it look the same? there often is and most web sites do this. they are built using tables or divs with explcit dimensions. you must tells us what you mean exactly because you should use pdf if you want everything to always remain in proportion no matter the size, but
If she is talking about what I think she is talking about I believe we both have the same problem. The problem I have is my site looks perfect on my computer but if I bring my site up on a different computer with different monitor resolution then you have to scroll right and down to be able to see the whole page. But on my computer the whole page fits on my screen.
I recently had the same problem with a site I was building. Use percentages instead of pixels when defining width and height... it will translate better to all resolutions. That's how I solved it anyway.
Hi i have seen your website, i can help you to make it rectify, can you send me its css file so i can find out the bug of resolutions. Thanks
Table layouts are not ideal, this isn't perfect but hopefully fixes your problem and gives you some ideas..... <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>Michigan Hooks and Bullets</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { background-color: #000; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, Times, serif; color: #0f0; text-align: center; } #logo { display: block;} a.img {border:none} .content {padding: 60px 0;} .txtbold {font-weight:bold;} a:link {color: #f00} a:hover {color: #009} a:visited {color: #009;} a:active {color: #fff;} --> </style></head> <body> <div> <div id="logo"> <img src="http://michiganhooksandbullets.com/images/banner.jpg" alt="michigan hooks and bullets logo"> </div> <div class="content txtbold"> <p>Welcome to Michigan Hooks and Bullets Forum.</p> <p>A place for hunting and fishing enthusiast to communicate,</p> <p>learn and share knowledge of the great outdoors</p> <p><a href="http://www.MichiganhooksandBullets.com/forum">ENTER FORUM</a></p> </div> <a href="http://www.jdoqocy.com/1d111wktqks7BH9BE9A798ECCGGD" onmouseover="window.status='http://www.basspro.com';return true;" onmouseout="window.status=' ';return true;"> <img src="http://www.tqlkg.com/a9103r6Az42OSYQSVQROQPVTTXXU" alt="advert"></a> <div class="content"> <p>© 2010 Michiganhooksandbullets.com all rights reserved</p> <p>Michiganhooksandbullets.com is not affiliated with hooks and bullets magazine</p> </div> <div><!--adverts--> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-4492383800400299"; /* 728x15, created 5/5/10 */ google_ad_slot = "9312934047"; google_ad_width = 728; google_ad_height = 15; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-4492383800400299"; /* 728x15, created 5/5/10 */ google_ad_slot = "9312934047"; google_ad_width = 728; google_ad_height = 15; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-4492383800400299"; /* 728x15, created 5/5/10 */ google_ad_slot = "9312934047"; google_ad_width = 728; google_ad_height = 15; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js"> </script> </div> </div> </body> </html> Code (markup):
Also just as a thought... if your site is "hooks & bullets" shouldn't your strap line be "fishing & hunting" as opposed to "hunting & fishing" ??
MarvinJ, Thanks a bunch. All I was really asking for was information I didn't expect someone to do the work for me. I'm not complaining, I'm very appreciative!! I compared the code to mine and see alot of changes. I'm just a beginner as I'm sure you can tell but I am trying to learn. Hopefully someday soon I'll be atleast decent. Thanks again MarvinJ
