If you did a lot of SEO once first creating the site and on most terms you still dont show up within the top 100 even if the domain name is same as the keyword your targeting, if you change the IP Address will this help by any means?
Generally... No. When you say "alot of SEO" what does that really mean? And... have you give it time for your efforts to kick in??? Links generally do not count right away especially for a new website. Give it time.
If your competition is strong 'exact' domain name may not matter much. Are you suspecting that your host or might be suspected for SPAM and that's the reason your SERPs are not good?
If the IP you are going to change it in the same geolocation / country then it will not help. I would recommend you to aware of this change. If you are targeting to Google.com and already has IP based in US. When you have changed IP from US to other country / continent then your ranking in Google.com would be suffered.
What is changing IP has to do with the TOP 100 ranking. I mean it does matter but it is not the sole cause if your site is not faring well. SEO should be intelligently done..
