I am thinking of changing my site to a Wordpress format. Some of my pages have PR... will this disappear when I completely revamp the site? The content will largely be the same. thanks for any help M
Your displayed PR will not change until the next toolbar update. However the real PR (used for SERPs) could change very quickly, basically as soon as the next time your site is indexed. Changing formats itself is very unlikely to change your PR, but, that said, its a gamble. If I were you I wouldn't worry about the short term PR change and just design the site the way you want it to look for your customers. Make sure the titles are unique, and that you have done some basic optimisation (nothing over the top) and you should be OK.
Your homepage PR shouldn't be affected. I assume all of your individual post urls would change though. So you could lose any rankings for those pages. All of your internal PR would be temporarily gone too. I would only make this change if you feel it is absolutely necessary.
If you also redirect your pages to wordpress URL (or keep the same URL structure), you should not see any PR changes. Anyway, the PR wouldn't change until the next PR update.
