Yep that's about the sum of it. I think I will check google map now just to see what it shows. Funny thing is in that area there is 2 or 3 bars at least and a liquor store and pizza shop and that is about it. No store or anything.

    You have it good.

I live ten minutes away from the nearest "town." This town has a Stewarts and post office. Thats it. Its another 30 or so minutes from that town to get to our nearest city.

I am trying to look up the some stats on teen drivers, I have not found the the total % of drivers that age yet, but I did find some interesting stats on accidents though. See here http://www.rmiia.org/Auto/Teens/Teen_Driving_Statistics.htm

scary stats there, especially if it's a drunken speeding cell phone user

While I'm still not convinced the teen idea would be all that large an impact, I think the nation has a whole has to do a serious 180 in order to stem the tide of the soon to be $200 a barrel oil.

Someone told me the other day that China (working with our good pals Cuba) is going to begin drilling the gulf! GREAT!!!

Why we're not WAY MORE active in the Gulf is beyond me. I can see not wanting to run rough shot in Alaska.....who cares about the Gulf

I had not heard that about the Gulf, where are all the enviromentalist's that prevent us companies to drill on our own land, are they going to stop china from dilling in the gulf. found a disturbing article here http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/china_starts_oil_drilling.html It is just one source so I don't know the validity of it.

yep, not sure where my friend read it (but since he's my fathers age and follows this sort of thing) I bet he wasn't just blowing smoke.

Why not do it different. A person can only drive between 16 to 18. That would save even more gas.

they should AT LEAST be stringent about renewing anyone over 68 IMO and then get retested every year.

I'm all for the old folks to remain active (keeps them alive longer IMO) but not if it comes at the cost of plowing through sidewalks full of people :(

I passed my driving test last year (I live in the UK and was 17 at the time). Insurance costs a fortune and I crashed within 2 months of driving :D:D

i think that is not a bad idea. but then it wouldn't be quite fair for the teens. but if teens drivers are being reckless than it would be better to raise the age requirements.
