I've read that Changing Target URLs in Google AdWords Can Hurt the Campaigns. (I can loose the ranking, CTR, and basically the whole history of the ad) Is this true? How can I prevent this from happening? Can I change the Target URL without hurting the overall quality of the active campaigns? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks! John
Yes, if you change the url you lose the history, and it can effect your QS. What can you so about it? - Well, just make sure you've got the other relevancy factors in place, and get a decent ctr pretty quickly.
Yes changing it will basically reset everything to zero. There is no way you can prevent this, it's basically like creating another campaign.
John this is not a matter of concern if currently your keywords have a quality score of 7 or more. But if quality score is less than 7 then make sure your new page is optimized well with regard to keywords of your campaign and make some good relevant ads to get good quality score. Actually landing page play its part in quality score but the most important factor are click through rate and relevancy. Mathematically I can say quality score 60% depends on click through rate, 25% on relevancy and 15% landing page. I am new here but you can trust me.
