Our site urls are now something like

    website.com/
    website.com/?dir=ContentFolder/Sub Folder&start=1

Now we need to move it to

    website.com/subfolder1
    website.com/subfolder2

Someone please let me know how can we do this change without any ranking effect.
We are afraid of doing this change as all "/?dir=ContentFolder/Sub Folder&start=1"
indexed pages will be redirected to main "website.com" and I am sure google don't like this kind of redirect :p

If I were you, I would just do a 301 redirection and this should do the trick! :)

Patco That will just redirect all pages including index.php to index again and again!
Maybe it will create a redirect circle.

Google wouldn't mind if you redirected to the homepage if it was relevant.
