Changing site description in Yahoo to improve serps?

    I initially got listed in Yahoo in 1999. Since I submitted my site description I have regretted it as it is poorly written and reflects the state of the web back then and the state of the webmaster, me, as well. Anyway should I resubmit my site description to Yahoo in an attempt to improve my serps? Unlike Google which updates my site description whenever I do, or some time thereafter and I have tweaked it many, many times. Yahoo keeps the same meta tag description from 8 years ago. Any ideas?

    There is a meta tag to tell yahoo to ignore your directory info and instead list your current site title and description:
    <META name="ROBOTS" content="NOYDIR">

    Thanks for the information. How, if at all does this effect Google or any of the other search engines? Particularly google?

    Get more backlinks so that you can get robotted. Also, you should aim for google. Not yahoo

    Does this meta tag go on my home page or on all the pages?

    You need not only to resubmit your site description but also get more backlinks and provide a good and unique content on you site. You can change your site description if it does not gives a good ranking.
