Hello, Can I change my paypal name, I made a paypal ages ago, and provided a false name just for the kick of it. However, now I need to put my real name! Does paypal allow you to change? If yes, then how?
Not sure, I would email them or call them if you have a few hours of free time lol. Ive never heard of someone changing the name. Maybe if you have a valid Social security number on it they will (guessing)
I am not a US member I am from India, so I don't think calling them would work. I e-mailed them about it. Anyway, how does having a false name matter? :O
No, you cannot. Technically the Paypal terms states that you cannot change ownership of the account so there would not be a way where you can say that someone sells you the account. Then again providing fake information is against policy which is an automatic limitation. The only way you can change your name in paypal is to provide a letter from your high court to legally state that you have changed your name or you can prove that the other name is an alias to your actual name which must also be legally documented. I know that some people may say to use fake details and documentations but if you want to comply to the terms, there is nothing really much you can do apart from closing the account and creating one with your real details.
You can call them free from Skype, using their toll-free number. But telling them that i used the fake name wont work, and even they would close your account.
You have no any option left if you already provided them false name. Just close that account and open new account with correct info.
i know how to change the Name. Go to gazette office and change your name as per paypal fake name. LOL. Just kiddin.. as per deluxdon said you have to close your paypal account and start new account with your real name and address
It does not matter if the account has no money or a lot of money, the fact is that you lied in your application and pretending to be someone else which you are not so there is nothing legally which you can do without breaking any more terms and conditions. If you can spend the money, go ahead and spend it and then close the account. I am sure that when you sign up that you have to be truthful with the application as I am sure you were presented with the contractual agreement. Just contact paypal and tell them that you lied about your name and application and have them close the account for you. At least try to do the right thing.
I dont think you will be able to change the name but you can open a new account and if that fake account has some good amount of money then get a VCC | get verified | transfer the money to your new valid account. I am not sure if this will work or not but I believe it will
Hello Actually there is no need to change anything. The important thing is that the bank acc may be accurate. If you wish to transfer more than $800 you will need to provide them with a valid debit or credit card acc. to validate any big transfer. They will deduce a small amount from the acc. and provide you with a four digit code on your next credit card statement and after you keyed in the numbers you be validated by them as genuine. It is harder to change a name from an existing account. Open a new account with your details and have it verified. if you have existing funds in your old account you could easily transfer it to your new one.
