Idk if that's the right term. So I lookup the IP of some server. IP Address Country Region City Latitude/ Longitude ZIP Code Time Zone 66.90.110.140 UNITED STATES ILLINOIS WOODSTOCK 42.3247 -88.4593 60098 -06:00 Net Speed ISP Domain DSL FDCSERVERS.NET STRUNGOUT.CA Well it's obvious that IP is a server. Is it at all possible to make it look like it's at a university or something? I need a VPN to get around a ban and it's very obvious that an IP that traces back to a datacenter belongs to a server hosting a VPN or proxy. I don't really care about tracert, I could explain that away if necessary, and also I know it's impossible to change the tracert. I just want it so that if someone looks up the IP on DNSstuff or whatever, they think it's not a VPN or proxy immediately.
why not just change your reverse/forward dns to something like 66-90-110-140.dsl.somedomain.com ? Would that not be sufficient? Whois info for IPs is a lot like whois info for domains, only the person who owns the block can change the info. There is this new thing i just recently heard of (ive only ever seen softlayer provide it) called SWIP.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shared_Whois_Project .. But i don't know much about it.
