Hi, I am looking to change the host of my website from webs as it doesn't give me enough control. Basically I want to have a members area that I can add a "wallet" to which the use can upload credits to. (credits obviously being $) I need it to be cheap as its a small idea I have and dont want to plunge a load of money into a non starter Any suggestions on good hosting sites? Thanks
Well, it looks like you are looking for a different website builder or platform rather then a web host. I don't personally know one that will let you deposit money into a wallet but a good website builder that has multiple features is Basekit. If you are trying to avoid a website builder altogether then a standalone web host would be the way to go. http://hostturbo.com is who I recommend for that. With this type of web host you will be able to upload your own site or script to make the site you want. tldr, if you want a wallet script you will have to find a ecommerce script like OpenCart, Magento, or Prestashop and then upload that to a standalone web host.
I would advise you to go with a cPanel hosting solution and use a CMS such as wordpress or Joomla, this way you can get more control and also use the plugins to create what you need. If the plugin does not exist you can easily get one developed.
hey, If you want cost efficiency with full cPanel control, i would prefer go with gogetspace.com. Cost is much efficient compare to the service they offer, and support is quite active,Using them for 1 month. for sure goona say yes to them!
Hostgator offers monthly billing term option for shared hosting. So you don't need to pay a lot at once.
A2hosting and readymakers are two hosts which are worth every cent you pay for their services. All works like a clock with them and prices are competitive.
I am getting tired of people promoting hostgator, I too am an affiliate, and I also have 50 good reasons to promote hostgator, truth is, that is the main reason why anyone promotes hostgator. Those that have used their servers know that servers are heavily overloaded. The server that I was on almost had the ram completely maxed out at any given time of the day. Sites with no traffic ran so slow that it was just pathetic and in the end I had to move all my sites (even with no traffic) away from hostgator. Quite simply, you MUST avoid any host that sells unlimited, and here is just 1 reason why. A host could have 1 MB un-metered connection, or more commonly, its a 10mb unmetered connection that is burstable, and this is what they call unlimited! It doesnt really matter what speed the connection is, hosts that offer unlimited will often have the servers filled up to the point where the port is maxed out. The best thing to say about hostgator was its support staff were amazing, that said, since they were brought out I believe that everyone of their amazing support staff have been canned.
To be fair I run a web hosting company myself and was refraining from self promoting in this thread and rather trying to help the OP without being biased towards my services. Sometimes I wonder why I bother.
I know what you mean, and to be fair, the op would be much better off with you over hostgator. People shouldnt put their own back pockets ahead of the benefits of others.
That's it - I don't like to self promote as then it gives others to offer their opinions on my view, it seems like if you are an affiliate rather than an owner it is somehow more acceptable to promote.
hostgator.com sucks these days with frequent slowdowns and sudden 503 under maintenance banners on hosted websites. I asked them why they did not informed me about this scheduled maintenance and their reply was:According to our Terms of Services, we are not obligated to inform you about this.
I suggest you to do a comparison of offers to choose the suitable one. As I know cddhosting.com is offering quality services for low prices.
