Changing home page, will the PR fall?

I am planning to re-design my home page which has a PR of 3, the new page will have more links, what steps should I take other than making links no-follow that the PR should remain intact?

Use any seo-browser to check how search engine view you site and ensure after redisigning it won't change how SE will view your site.

and , take care of your keyword density , Headers.

There are many more points which need to be considered...

Tell him what they are then...

As far as PageRank is concerned, as long as the url stays exactly the same, it won't make a difference.
Your position in serps for keywords could be effected by changes in page titles, keyword density, and naming of internal links to the page

To be fair, chaning your website landing page is likely to have little impact on your PR unless of course you are changing the file extensioni.e moving from.html to .php in which case you will lose all the backlinks pointing to that landing page, which is likelyto effect PR. Google themselves suggest no more than than 100 links on any one webpage, and you areright to "No Follow" the ones that you do have. Obviously the major impact will be if you change the written content on your landing pages as any keywords that appear in SERPS for this page will disappear.Instead try to incoporate the same written content if you don't want to lose your ranking for those keywords

No.. it won't change until you do a real blunder.. Lol
PR is dependent mainly on link juice from the backlinks... so changing the design of your page, should not have any impact on the PR.

As others have mentioned PR is gained by having other pages link to you and lessened by the links on your page to other pages. If you make the new links nofollow and dont change the page name then your PR won't change. However this isnt the important point, what is important is where your page comes in SERPs for your chosen keywords. Of course changes to the content of the page will affect that. Best bet is to put the URL up here and discuss the changes you're considering...

Generally speaking, a template re-design would not affect your PR if you could your new homepage contents niche relative as old one. Building more backlinks for your homepage would be helpful for this purpose, too, especially from niche relative authority sources. :)

    Have a nice day,

No. Read this post and look at the diagram http://techgeeks-online.com/2010/webmasters-dont-benefit-from-nofollow/

    1) Changing links to nofollow/dofollow won't change deep PR on your site.
    2) The amount of links on a page doesn't affect that page's PR.

The change of your homepate won't affect your pr update. But sometimes frequent change of your homepage will influence your listings.

Correcting the impression this post I made may have given - I've implied that outbound links without rel="nofollow" dilute a page's pagerank. This is not true.

It depends upon how you are designing the page, if it is search friendly then there will be no change in the PR otherwise it may dropped. Just make sure that page load time will be with in 10 sec and with good content.

As long as you can maintain the old internal linking structure and some of old homepage content. I do not think it would ruin out both your pagerank and website ranking anyway. Most of the mistakes made by owner was made a change without maintain the old elements and internal linking structure.

Pagerank of a page is all about outside links to this page, it has nothing to do with page itself (except punish :)

@adultseo What do you mean by it depends only on Link juice from backlinks.
Pr of the page does not depends only on the backlinks but also with links on page as well.

OP you need to consider that you do not increase too much links on homepage. try to minimize as much as possible. Also have a pretty similar keyword density as you have now or it will change your serp's as well.
Get some high pr links so that pr is not only maintained but also increases.
Best of luck to you. :)

Google will not change your pr if you change home page of your site. Google will check your web page traffic and number of quality back links to your site.

Changing your design won`t affect PR at all, but if you consider putting more links you need to make some of them no follow
