    Hi guys,

There is a very nice website that I think of buying.
It is very old, pr5, great alexa and ranking.

What will happen to the ranking when the ownership change take place ?
Will Google reset my ranking ?
Is there a proper way to do this ?

    Thanks

no google will not do any ranking reset if you are buying with complete website

if you are buying only domain name then that is depend on backlinks.

    check backlinks of site.

Don't worry. There won't be any change for sure! However, make sure to check the backlinks very thoroughly. There are times when you will notice tons of backlinks before purchasing and you will eventually find them decreasing over time after you owe it. This actually is the case when the backlinks coming to your potential sites are from its previous owner's other sites. Once he/she sells the site, he removes its link from his other sites where it might be getting backlinks from.

    Hi,

Generally speaking, changing domain ownership would not affect the PR and SERP for the domain since many sites have hidden their registering information via hosting privacy protection service.

    all the best,

If backlinks stay in place, your PR should not be affected.
