Changing Domain Names without Losing SERP / Page Rank

    I have 2 websites:
    A. VideoBloggingTips.Com (Born in July, 2008) (6,000 + Inbound Links)
    B. DeepFriedWhatever.Com (Born this month) (700 Inbound Links - lot of them aren't high quality)

I like the name DeepFriedWhatever.Com way better out of the two, but as you
can see, Deep Fried Whatever doesn't have many inbound links...

I would like to somehow redirect my traffic from VideoBloggingTips.Com to
DeepFriedWhatever, without losing SERP rankings and page rank.

    Is it possible?

A 301 redirect will pass PageRank and rankings pretty well, in my experience. In fact, I've found that 301's will pass rankings pretty much completely. I've never done it with a new domain, though, so not sure how that could affect it.

The other problem: I am using Blogger. So I don't even know if this would be possible

It doesn't matter if you are using blogger as long as it is hosted in your website you can add a 301 redirect in the htaccess of your domain.

What about all of my articles on Video Blogging Tips? Won't I lose them since they're hosted on blogspot

    Here's my setup.

    VideoBloggingTips.Com --> VideoBloggingTips.Blogspot.Com (articles are hosted here)

    DeepFriedWhatever.Com --> DeepFriedWhatever.Blogspot.CoM

Just republish the blog to the new FTP settings. It is actually as easy as that!
Don't forget to always maintain an updated copy of your website in your hard drive. JUST IN CASE :)

    Wait wait wait.

What if, instead of 301 re-directing Videobloggingtips.com to Videobloggingtips.blogspot.com (which I have right now)

    I 301 re-direct DeepFriedWhatever.Com to VideoBloggingTips.Blogspot.Com

    Then I re-direct VideoBloggingTips.Com to DeepFriedWhatever.Com?

    Would this work?

I know this would work, but would it work without killing my rankings?

    I lost you :)

Which is the site you want to redirect the links/PR/content to?

You first mentioned you wanted to redirect VideoBloggingTips.Com to DeepFriedWhatever.Com. You only need to republish the content from your blogger account to DeepFriedWhatever.Com and then do a 301 redirect from VideoBloggingTips.Com to DeepFriedWhatever.Com.

    I want to re-direct VideoBloggingTips.Com to DeepFriedWhatever.Com that
way, Deep Fried Whatever receives all of the links and the page rank and the
    good stuff...

So you're saying to copy all of my content from Video Blogging Tips and post
it on Deep Fried Whatever... And then do the re-direct?

The problem... I have over 300 articles at VideoBloggingtips.com... That'd take forever.
    Unless I misunderstood?

    What I was thinking

VideoBloggingTips.Com is currently connected with VideoBloggingTips.blogspot.com

What if, instead of that I did this:

Make DeepFriedWhatever.Com connected to VideoBloggingTips.blogspot.com (content holder)

    Then, redirecting VideoBloggingTips.Com to DeepFriedWhatever.Com

    VBT.COM --> DFP.COM <-- content coming from VBT.blogspot.com

    Would this work?

To republish 300 articles in blogger to a new FTP is going to take a few minutes, just make sure you are constantly checking and if it tells you that the transfer is taking longer than expected just tell it to continue.
I've done it for sites with thousands of articles, believe me, it is completely painless.

    Just try this:
    1. Log in to blogger
    2. Add the new FTP information for DeepFriedWhatever.Com
    3. Republish entire blog (supervise it so that in the case it shows you the "taking too long message" you can continue the transfer)
    4. Edit the htaccess with the 301 redirect in VideoBloggingTips.Com so that it redirects to the new DeepFriedWhatever.Com.
    5. Add a link to seosapien.com in DeepFriedWhatever.Com for the tips :) Just kidding :)

    READY!

If I correctly understood what you are trying to do you'll have it fixed in 20 minutes tops with 4 simple steps.

Dude. I'll link to you asap if we can get this rolling...
This is the best help I have ever had. I greatly appreciate it! :)

    1. I understand step 1 :)
    2. How and where do I do step 2? (I'm not hosting the blog on my own server... Blogger is hosting it for me)

    1. Log in
    2. If you have several blogs in the same account open VideoBloggingTips
    3. Go to settings
    4. Click on Publishing
You should already be publishing by FTP to show the content in VideoBloggingTips.Com
    5. Change all the configuration so it is now going to post in DeepFriedWhatever.Com
    ftp.deepfriet....
blog url http://www.weepfriedwhatever.com (or without the www. depending what you like to use)
    path usually is /public_html/
blog file name index.html (or whatever you want to use)
ftp user: add you server or if you created an individual ftp account for blogger use that one
ftp pass: same as above just that the password
    Write the captcha
    Hit SAVE

Once it is saved it will ask you if you want to republish the entire blog or the index. Click on republish ENTIRE blog and if entered the correct information the blog will be republished exactly the same in your new domain.

Remember one important thing! If you have images/css/banners or any other file that wasn't uploaded using blogger in your old server it won't show in the new one. Blogspot will transfer all the information it has stored, other things such as the robots.txt or sitemap you'll have to do it manually.

Nope. Different stuff... Yeah. Same article titles. But stuff was re-written for each post.

The error message: "Another blog is already hosted at this address."

is coming up because deepfriedwhatever.com is currently being hosted at deepfriedwhatever.blogspot.com

Try this, I've never done it so I don't know what might happen.
    1. Login and go to videoblo...
    2. Settings
    3. Basics
    4. Click on Export Blog
    5. Go to DeppFried and Import it

The main problem here is that you want to integrate one blog into another and it is basically impossible cause the archives and file names might create a conflict.

If you are looking to transfer link popularity and PR to the new domain the only option you have is to loose all the site content in VideoBl... and redirect the URL value alone without the posts.

Do you have a backup of the deepfriedwhatever? I don't know what this might cause so before you publish make sure you can undo it.
