Changing domain name

I'm about to start another site, but I'm having a little trouble with the domain name. I found 2 that I like. But one is longer and maybe doesn't fulfill the full sites capibility. The other one I don't like because the first word ends with an 'r' and the second word starts with a 'r', so I don't like the look when it's lowercase, but uppercase it's fine.

    Anyways, to the question. :p

I was thinking if the site takes off just fine, I could change the domain name if wanted and just use the old domain to redirect the visitors.

It shouldn't really interfere with any members as everything will still be on the new domain... I think?

I think I'm worrying about nothing, but...?

As long as both names are posting to the same site, there is nothing to worry about. Since the site proper and the database are just hosted on one place, it is just that the site itself is called by two different domain names.

My first post was kind of confusing probably. Let me try to explain it better:

I start the site with Domain1, but after time, I don't like domain1 and decide to get another one, domain2. I put the site on domain2 and advertise with that one now. But instead of losing all the visitors, I will redirect domain1 to domain2.

    Make more since?

Sorry, it's nearly 2am here and I'm sure I'm not making much since. :p Thanks for the reply though :)

there should not be a problem. I would think it may be a prudent idea to have a News Update on your sites to state that there is a change in the domain name so at least no one would think that your website got hacked and got redirected to somewhere else. Information and communication is key here.
