    It is crazy for G to use this data since we know dmoz works at a snail's pace.

    People are being kind by saying DMOZ is slow. They are beyond slow. The word has not yet been invented that could define their level of ineptitude and lethargy. If the internet is a Ferrari, then DMOZ is a Model T. It's unfortunate that DMOZ carries any weight on the web. They are so far behind the times...

    What I found is that if a site does not have a description meta tag then Google and Yahoo use the DMOZ description.

    <META NAME="Description" Content="enter description ">

    Ya DMOZ will never edit it, they're to busy approving illegal porn sites.

    EDIT* I know there are seperate DMOZ editors for each section but for the sake of a joke, go with it?

    It just makes no sense to me that Google is using the company name as it title in the SERPs. The page has meta descriptions as well.

    If you changed your web page title recently, I guess google keeps showing the old title for some time before changing it to the new title and yes sometimes it uses dmoz title.
