Changing all of my URL's.. some help?

    I use sh404sef which is a component for joomla. It's a very good component. Now I want to set it so that it does not show a section in the URL on a content page. I'd also like your opinions on whether I should do this or not. Maybe it's better like it is right now?

    Example:
    sitename.com/general-money-making/adsense-secrets-you-dont-know about.html

    I want to change THAT into just:
    sitename.com/adsense-secrets-you-dont-know about.html


    This is site wide. So all my URL's will be changed. What's the best way to do this without losing rankings? What's the easiest way to redirect the old ones to the new ones?

    you can do 301 permanent redirection for your website,
    Initially there will some changes in rankings but believe me doing redirection is not bad technique.

    theres a way to do it without going in .htaccess and manually writing out a list of all the url's of my site to redirect?

    Also, opinions on leaving them as is or changing them, would be appreciated :)
