Changing Adsense Pub ID # After Buying A Website

Can someone explain to me the procedure/process of imputing your own adsense PUB ID # after buying a site.

I've never done this and i've read in many threads that you just replace your pub-#. Will this work? Or do you have to generate your own adsense code on your own account?

I've replaced the pub-# on a site I just bought and the ads don't show up, I'm assuming I have to generate my own code and put in my personal javascript code.

swapping out the pub ID doesn't always work. Just generate some new code and paste it into the site. You get the benefit of being able to change the blocks via your Adsense account shall you want to experiment. If you site consists of static html files, you might find a find & replace program useful.

You should generate new code, you use channels right? So you need your own generated ads.

    Exactly...

Delete the old code and replace with your newly generated code.

You better change the whole code specially if you want to track the ads with channels.
