    Hey,

I wanna change the structure of one website and in this change i mean, links, directories, html - basically everything besides the domain name. Now,my fear as you prolly guessed is in loosing some ranking.I know that I can redirect 301 some of my visited pages to the new pages but maybe you guys can advice me on what can be done to avoid any penalty.

I was thinking also in removing the old pages from the index(via webmaster tools in google) but dunno how important is that to the serps. So,any advices,I will greatly appreciate it :)

that was a major changes.... your SERP gonna change too.. or maybe lost...
but if thats necessary and its gonna help to improve your site.. why not... 301 really helps if you gonna remove some of your page/s...
