Changing a PR3 homepage file name

    Hi all,

I just changed the filename of my homepage website. It was called home.asp and was a PR 3 in Google. In order to rank better in the SERPS for a given keyword i just changed the file name to my keyword. Just like "keyword".asp.

Now i know the new homepage doesnt even have a PR! In the old one, home.asp i just applied a "301 Moved Permanently" to the new one.

Is there a way to keep the PR3 in the new homepage ? Do i have to start from 0 again ?

    Thanks for your help!

Its your domain that is receiving that PR.

    hi,

as far as i know PR refers to a webpage, and not a domain.
each individual files in the same domain can have different PR.

Google only updates the visible pagerank a few times a year. Wait for the next update, and your new page will probably receive PR3.

Stop focusing on PR and focus on quality content that gets organically linked to because it's so good that people want to link to you. Not focusing on PR is probably the best way to get high PR, at least in my experience.

if you change the page name you are essentially starting from scratch again and any links you have pointing to your site will obviously be pointing to the old landing page address.
