I don't understand why my site disappears for keyword phrases that it has always ranked well for. Last time it disappeared, it returned in a few days, but I just don't get why it does that. My main term sometimes just disappears while normally ranking in the number 2 spot. Can anyone help with this? www.coolchecks.net
Google can change their algorithm or competitor are getting more relevant backlinks. Its just the google dance.
if your ranking is experiencing that kind of flactuation, then you need more quality backlinks which will help you sustain the ranking. it is a posibility that you didn't update your site in a while which could be the reason, you need to make some minor update to your site or add a little bit of content which will help as well. so get some backlinks and make some site update / add some content
it might be the case that you have given up building links as you were doing it before .........thus your competitors might be taking advantage with more and more efforts....... google changes its algo everynow and then with varying small parameters from algo........thus whenever most emp is kept on links then your website would be disappearing ......... Put more efforts bro!!!!!!
Google like to make thing a bit difficult now and again, sorts the wheat from the chaff! At the end of the day if it was easy everybody would be doing it.
This happens to my websites from time to time. However, after a little fluctuation it usually settles and stays.
It's normal and it happend from time to time to everyone... just maintain what you are doing in promoting your site...
