    Hello all,

I have a forum thats getting busy, so ive had to go from a shared server to a VPS server.

Ive moved all the vbulletin files over and copied over the database.

My domain is with 123-reg and ive gone into my control panel and pointed the DNS at my VPS server IP.

How do i know when my domain is pointing to my VPS server and not my old shared hosting? as im told it can take upto 48hrs.

As the files and database are a mirror image of each other, is there another way to check ?

Just ping the domain and see whether it is pointing to the new server.

If you are using windows OS, then click Start -> Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt , you will get the command prompt window. Enter the command

    ping yourdomainname

and see whether its pointing to. ;)
