Redesigned my site from an http-based site to an https-based online store which has SSL (URL / domain stay the same) and want to add a 336X280 on new site. Can I paste in previous or old code, or is it better to make a new ad? Should new tracking channel also be created? Synchronous? Thanks!
I suspect google is smart enough to serve it over SSL. Another thing to consider is this https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/10528?hl=en hope that helps, Nigel
not just related to adsense but want to post one common mistake which is after changing site to https leaving some content with the old http url (like some images, logos etc.) when this happens the browser alerts the user that the website has some insecure elements. this becomes irritating for the user. so please check all assets so that none are hardcoded into using old 'http' prefixed urls. especially the post-payment landing page.
Nigel: That link was appreciated. What I will do then, is create a new SSL-compliant code and paste it into the spot 'Sponsored Content' you see on my homepage (in my sig)...this sounds like the easiest way. Also, should it be synchronous? What are your thoughts on that?
yes, asyncronous and if you have to re create the ad real fast to reflect https that is fine. You can also simply drop the ad code on the site and see what happens real fast as well. If its not getting served over https you will get a browser warning saying some elements on this page are not encrypted. I am not entirely sure that is necessary though(new ad) only takes a sec regardless. N.
Ho CodablePixewl....I may have found a solution for this question but do appreciate your input on my "post-payment landing page".....if you click through to link in my sig, do you mean the pages where I have my shopping cart? Curious about that. I really appreciate your input, so thanks..... Phenomenal Nigel....I need to wait until my web designer returns, in a few days (my site is WordPress + WooCommerce)
I used 'post-payment' landing page as a general example where this problem is common as designers forget to put some images with https url. but in your website the problem i'm stating is this some images are probably not using the https url.
Please recommend the best approach to resolve this . . how do I prevent this? Is there something I can do on my end? It would be appreciated knowing....thanks!
